All-Hallow-Thanks-Mas: The Sniffly, Sneezy, Coughy Season

It last three months and it's NOT caused by the weather or POLLEN. 

It's caused by people pulling Halloween decorations out of storage in October and Thanksgiving decorations out of storage in November and Christmas decorations out of storage in December and it doesn't end until all the residences and commercial establishments thrilled to coat their building in mildewed decor STOP because it's now January.

And I wish people would either STOP decorating ENTIRELY or at least do something that doesn't damage their health and MINE because I still have to SHOP even though I don't do this nonsense and I still have to be exposed to all the rest of the people coughing and sneezing and sniffling from this self inflicted and while they pretend it's something we can't prevent and we're too stupid to add one and one and get TWO.

Untouchable

In some contexts, untouchable is a high status thing.  Commoners are typically not supposed to touch kings and queens and as someone with a serious, incurable medical condition and compromised immune system, I've often thought that my life would be vastly better if ordinary people got their bodily autonomy respected similar to kings and queens.  We don't actually need servants to handle THAT.  Most Walmart bathrooms have no doors and are spacious and provide a public space where strangers can avoid touching each other for germ control reasons.  1. You need space designed to serve that goal.  2. And you need social and cultural practices that support that, such as bowing to show respect instead of shaking hands to greet people.  Multiple older cultures with dense populations bow in greeting (instead of shaking hands), have spicy cuisine and other practices in line with my views of germ control.
